The Italian Gardens situated at the head of The Long Water on the north side of Kensington Gardens. Everyday for two years I walked past these gardens on the way to the Royal College of Art across the park. So at once they seem very familiar without ever having entered them. On this particular evening during summer it was fortunate to record them as if deserted, a chance moment when they seemed abandoned by tourists as twilight bathed the formal structures, and vapour trials criss-cross the sky above.
